Home | Inspiration | I'm in Love | Phoebe Howard

Look at this home... a Phoebe Howard design in East Hampton. It is awesome. Bright and airy...

... yet sophisticated and stately.

I love the idea of making an entry/console table out of a linen - table could be ugly and cheap, but looks expensive.

This is what I want to do in my office... dreaming.

Unbelievable.
Mike would love this.

Recipes | Thai Steak Noodle Salad

I love the Thai Steak Noodle Salad at Houston's. It is sweet, spicy, crunchy, and delicious. Don't be scared of all of the ingredients - it takes just 25 minutes to make! To top it off it is healthy.

1 pound steak, cubed - flank steak, stew meat or sirloin
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt & Pepper
1/2 box of rice noodles
1 cup spinach
2 cup cabbage, shredded
2 carrots, julienned
1 avocado (not pictured - I forgot it!)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
4 green onions, chopped
1 handful basil, chopped

Dressing :
1 lime, juiced
1 tablespoon sugar
1 clove garlic minced
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
1 handful peanuts, chopped
1 teaspoon of chili sauce/paste

Directions:

To cook noodles, pour boiling water over the noodles and let them soak until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Heat the oil in a pan. Sear the steak until medium rare, abut 2-3 minutes per side and turn off the heat.

Add vegetables and noodles to the steak pan and toss off of the heat - just slightly warming the vegetables. Pour over dressing and toss.

Recipes | Pasta with Chicken and Sundried Tomato Cream Sauce

Target is now carrying a line of Giada De Laurentiis' cookware and specialty food items. Using her Fusilli pasta and sundried tomato sauce I created a great dinner - Pasta with Grilled Chicken, Mushrooms, and a sundried tomato cream sauce.

1 pound of fusilli pasta
1 pound of chicken breast
1 cup of mushrooms, sliced
3 cloves of garlic, minced
3 tablespoons of sundried tomato pesto sauce
1/4 cup of cream
2 tablespoons of olive oil
salt & pepper
parmesan cheese
fresh basil

Prepare the chicken for the grill by drizzling it with olive oil and sprinkling it with salt & pepper. Grill the chicken for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then slice it into 1/4 inch thick strips. Set aside. (Can be done before hand, or can use leftovers!)

Prepare a large pot of salted boiling water for the pasta. When you put in the pasta, you can begin the sauce.

In a separate saute pan, add olive oil and mushrooms. Cook for about 3 minutes, then add garlic. Next, add the sundried tomato pesto - stir and coat the mushrooms and chicken. Add in heavy cream and stir - mixing the pesto and cream. Add about 1/2 cup of the pasta water to thin pesto and cream. Bring to a slow boil and reduce sauce until it has thickened.

When the pasta is done take it directly from the water and put it into the sauce, tossing it. Add the chicken. Season with salt & pepper, if necessary. Garnish with parmesan cheese & fresh basil.

HOME | New Dog Line from Martha Stewart at PetSmart

The newest adventure of mogul Martha Stewart is an adorable collection of dog products at Pet Smart! In her signature cool colors, these leashes, bowls, scoops, carriers, and toys are going to look great in my house - and on Mr. Darcy.

I want these!

I love the light blue and especially the ivory and gold leather - they would match all of my gold leather shoes!
